AnimationsA crowd of people is visible in the opening scene, from which a figure emerges and grows large—a dictator. He takes control over the people, flooding them with advertisements and unhealthy food, disrupting their everyday lives and their relationships with one another. The dictator’s agents terrorize and kill people, maintaining their power through fear.
In the end, a creature of nature—a small bee—bursts the balloon-like, oversized dictator with its sting, the very figure the people had feared so much. The shriveled, deflated little balloon falls at the feet of the people, who are finally able to straighten up from their hunched, humiliated state.
In the closing scene, the crowd is seen from a distance, from a bird’s-eye view—the circle closes…
Bubble was featured at numerous international festivals between 2005 and 2007, including in Kecskemét, Budapest (BuSho), Belgrade, Ljubljana, Melbourne, and San Francisco, and was also broadcast on television in 2008–2009.
