The Other Side
AnimationsThe narrative unfolds across three intertwined layers. The first layer begins with a biblical reference: Abraham’s sacrifice of the lamb.
Connected to this is the second layer, in which abstract, grotesque forms—engaged in conflict with one another—emerge from the lamb’s blood. Meanwhile, we witness the flaying of both the lamb’s and the human’s skin.
In the third layer, wandering figures appear; by the end of the film, they arrive by boat into the otherworldly depths of the rotating brain’s positive and negative forms—into an inner dissolution.
The Other Side was active in the festival circuit between 1995 and 1997, screening at the Hungarian Film Week, in Ankara, Granada, and at international festivals in Bombay, Tampere, Bilbao, and Barcelona.
